Description:
It’s easy to envy those who have a great sense of style. And in no way is a person’s style more evident than it is in his or her own home. Our homes are our shrines, sanctuaries, and showrooms. Still, many people are clueless when it comes to creating the same interior elegance that leaps off the pages of fashion and design magazines. Enter Lisa Fegley-Petti, owner of Reposed NY, a new East Village home furnishings store that has people buzzing. Now you’ll be able to snag expensive-looking designer items that make you seem like a designer yourself.

As a child in Chicago, Petti tagged along with parents (who were also passionate collectors) to estate sales and antique shows while instinctively developing a keen aesthetic sensibility that would serve her well throughout life. When she wasn’t rearranging items in the family home, she spent hours drawing pictures of her fantasy store.

Flash forward several decades. Although Petti found herself working as the director of production at DKNY, she still created vignettes out of found objects as well as acquired scores of antiques and collectibles. When a career switch to developing products for the home couldn’t fully sate her desire, she finally decided to follow her passion and start a home decorating business. As it turns out, it was the perfect way to combine all of her loves into one focused concentration: making other people’s homes look as stunning as her own.

Today, Petti sells her stylish wares at two locations, the new East Village store and at Hiden Antiques Gallery in Stamford, Connecticut. She also continues to help clients achieve their unique version of effortless looking personal style with her interior design firm Beddie and Stella, Inc.

What will you find at Reposed NY? Most likely, Petti’s inventory will change from week to week. Be assured, however, that the store will always stock a variety of vintage and designer classics, mid-century furnishings, accent pieces, unusual art and sculptures, and a plethora of home accessories, such as lamps, paintings, bookends, oversized pillows, rugs, baskets, pottery, and more. Just popping in for a short visit is enough to stimulate the senses and set your own creative wheels in motion. Be careful, though. Just buying that one chair often leads to the lamp next to it, the painting behind it, the nearby table … you get the idea.
