1 The Christmas Tree at Rockefeller Center is sure to get you into the holiday spirit. This year’s tree is a 79-foot Norway Spruce covered with more than 50,000 multi-colored, energy efficient LED lights. The tree will remain lit until mid-January.

2 Ice skating is also a big attraction. This year you will find rinks in Central Park, Bryant Park, Rockefeller Center and a new rink at Manhattan West.

3 For those in search of holiday gifts, there are several holiday markets worth seeking out, including the Winter Village at Bryant Park, Columbus Circle and the Union Square Holiday Market featuring more than 160 vendors.

4 Let It GLOW is a family-friendly light show at the New York Botanical Garden which is offering an expanded 1.5 mile colorful experience.

5 Lightscape at the Brooklyn Botanical Garden is showcasing over a million dazzling lights, including the Fire Garden and Sea of Lights.

6 The Bronx Zoo Holiday Lights is made up of 260 lanterns representing 70 plant and animal species, including 30 new additions this year.

7 The NYC Winter Lantern Festival is back at Snug Harbor Cultural Center this year on Staten Island with 8 acres of luminescence. There are also shows in Queens and Long Island.

8 The Holiday Windows Display is back at Saks Fifth Avenue and so is the light show on the building’s façade.

9 Merchants House is showcasing A Christmas Carol in its elegant Greek Revival parlor surrounded by 19th century holiday decorations and flickering candles.

10 Santacon is making a comeback on December 11th for a day of holiday merriment with crowds of holiday Santas and Santa’s helpers. A list of participating locations is announced the night before.
