Beginning January 13th, Sami & Susu – the new Mediterranean restaurant from co-owners Amir Nathan [of Via Carota & Maison Premiere] and executive chef Jordan Anderson [of Olmsted & Maison Premiere], will be hosting chef Ashley Rath [of The Grill, Lalou and Gramercy Tavern] as a guest chef. Two special menus will be available for heated outdoor dining and delivery in three of the city’s boroughs.
Chef Ashley's menus will highlight family recipes and acclaimed signature dishes, alongside Sami & Susu staples, for two weeks [1/13-1/24]. One menu is curated specifically for delivery throughout the city [reaching Manhattan, Brooklyn & Queens], and an additional rotating, family-style menu is available for outdoor dining.
Some of chef Ashley's exclusive, comforting dishes include:
- Buttered Potato Dumplings with market vegetables
- Chicken Calvados with apples and red curry
- Chickpea Fritter Pita with pickles, mustard greens and aioli
- Spaghetti Squash Frittata with parsley pesto
- Game Bird Pie with Hunter's Sauce and black truffles
Later in January, Sami & Susu will host guest chef Spencer Bennett, previously the chef de cuisine at Chez Ma Tante [more details to follow].
Delivery is available Wednesday. Orders must be placed one day in advance by 7pm via the website. Heated, outdoor dining will be offered Thursday - Saturday from 1/14 to 1/23. Reservations and delivery are available through the website.
Sami & Susu is currently operating out of natural wine bar Ten Bells on the Lower East Side
