Noi Due Café opens on the Upper West Side
January 28, 2021, 7:23.43 pm ET
Noi Due Café means the two of us in Italian. It's also where husband-and-wife team, Golan Chetrit and Imma, are hoping to cook up something special. Their goal is to transport diners to the Mediterranean coast with contemporary red sauce fare and old world-style pizzas. Chetrit, an Israeli restaurateur, is also keeping it all kosher.
Pizzas range from a traditional Margherita with San Marzano tomato sauce and housemade mozzarella to Artichoke & Spinaci with Alfredo sauce and smoked mozzarella. Diners can also pick their own pasta (penne, fusilli, gnocchi and more) matched up with a variety of sauces, including a traditional marinara, creamy basil and spicy arrabiata sauce. There are salads, burgers and starters like fire roasted cauliflower, stuffed mushrooms and arancini (rice balls). Seafood also plays a starring role with Fire Roasted Stuffed Branzino, Salmon Teriyaki and Herb Crusted Tuna Steak. Desserts include Italian specialties like Crème Brûlée and Tiramisu along with New York-style Cheesecake and Chocolate Bourbon Pecan Pie.
And while Noi Due Café (casual concept) has moved from its former location at 143 West 69th to 491 Columbus Ave, a sister restaurant, Noi Due Carne, (fine-dining concept) still remains at the 141 West 69th location.
