“Movies Under the Stars,” which brings summer film screenings to New York City’s parks and playgrounds, has returned. As part of the series, various parks across the city are hosting screenings of films including “Coco,” “Raya and The Last Dragon,” “Moana,” “Onward,” “The Wizard of Oz” and other family favorites.
For the first time ever, this NYC summer tradition will include screenings, from July 9-11, of the third annual New York Public School Film Festival which showcases 32 films created by NYC public school students from across the five boroughs. As a bonus, these special screenings will be followed by student interviews with leading film and television industry professionals including director Malcolm D. Lee, director and screenwriter; Kemp Powers, and executive producer Nina Yang Bongiovi.
Attendees are encouraged to bring their own chairs and snacks, although some chairs will be reserved for seniors and those with disabilities.
