Collective Governors Island, the retreat nestled within a sprawling 173-acre green haven and minutes from Manhattan by ferry, is reopening for the 2024 season. A new addition is the Hearth & Harvest open fire dinner series. This unique culinary journey is designed to foster community, spark conversations, and celebrate the magic of food meeting fire. These family-style meals will feature locally sourced ingredients cooked over an open flame. Menus will be cooked by a different chef each time and will showcase various methods of open-fire cooking.
• The first dinner on May 30 will be hosted by Chef Ali Loukzada in partnership with Tom Ellis and The Swell Party, which is based in the Hudson Valley Region.
• The second dinner on July 23 will be led by Chef Norberto Piattoni from The Modestos, known for their open-fire cooking style influenced by Argentinian roots.
Spring and summer dinners will be held on Thursday, May 30 and Tuesday, June 23. Tickets are $250 per person for a family-style multi-course dinner that will kick off at 5:30pm.
Last season, Collective Retreats unveiled three new hard walled accommodations – Outlook Villa, Outlook Liberty Suite, and Outlook Shelter – featuring innovative and sustainable design. These accommodations seamlessly blend luxury with nature, providing guests with full AC/heat for ultimate comfort while immersing themselves in the picturesque surroundings of Governors Island.
