On a block known for hot spots like Sona and Gramercy Tavern, a restaurant dating back to Imperial Japan and Shoguns has arrived in a setting that is truly fit for royalty. Sarashina Horii dates back to 1789 and is known around the world for its soba noodles. Two types of “soba” are used: Sarahina made with buckwheat flour including the core of the seed, and Moro, a mix of buckwheat and wheat flour. It is available with Mixed Shrimp Tempura, Lobster Tempura, Berkshire Pork Belly, Mushroom Tempura and more. La Pecora Bianca now has a location just steps away from Bryant Park. Look for things like whipped ricotta with truffle honey, crispy calamari and beef & pork meatballs with pomodoro sauce. Assorted pastas include spaghetti, rigatoni with vodka sauce and cacio e pepe.
