That summer feel may be winding down, but Jibs is heating up. The fish shack with stunning waterfront views and hopping bar is the newest edition to Hudson Yards. The space is decorated to the hilt with seafarer items from buoys to life preservers, as well as lots of string lights to give the space a festive feel. The open air space complete with picnic tables and booths looking onto the Hudson can also be used year round thanks to a retractable roof and large, see-through side panels.
The horseshoe-shaped bar is already buzzing with small international maritime flags flowing overhead. The food is being prepared in a kitchen set up in large shipping containers.
Think fish shack fare with a raw bar, including oysters, shrimp cocktail and fluke ceviche. Other seafood specialties include crispy calamari, baked clams, crab cakes, grilled lobster and more. There are also lobster rolls and a lobster grilled cheese. Salads, burgers, chicken fingers and Old Bay chicken are available for landlubbers. Dessert brings blueberry cobbler and rocket pops.
Just open for a few days, Jibs is already looking like a New York City seafood destination.
Jib is located at 11th Ave and 33rd St, New York, NY (212) 581-7070
