DOING LUNCH

Zou Zou’s, the modern Eastern Mediterranean restaurant at Manhattan West is now doing lunch. Starting on Monday, Dec 13th, Chef Madeline Sperling will be debuting a handful of new lunch dishes including: Fire Roasted Skewers including Herbed Chicken, Harissa BBQ Prawns, and Spice-Crusted Filet Mignon; Zou Zou’s Cobb with broken wedge lettuce and Lebanese blue cheese; and the Zou Burger with sesame pide, z’houg aioli, and sumac onions, among others.

COAT DRIVE

Sweet Chick is hosting a local coat drive at the Lower East Side location on Dec 11th and 12th. For two days, New Yorkers can donate shoes and coats and Sweet Chick will give all items to a local organization. For anyone who donates items, Sweet Chick is offering special menu promotions, and Clarks is offering a 20% special promotional code for all New York City Clarks stores.

PITMASTER ARRIVES

Myron Mixon’s Pitmaster BBQ officially opens in Hoboken on Monday, December 13th following a ribbon cutting with Myron and Hoboken Mayor Bhalla. The Hoboken location will offer a selection of Mixon’s famous beef brisket, baby back ribs, smoked sausages, pulled pork and smoked chicken along with sides of baked beans, mac and cheese, loaded baked potato salad, and Brunswick stew.

HAPPY HOUR

Virgil’s Real Barbecue in Times Square is launching a new Happy Hour for the winter season. Offered daily from noon to 6pm as well as 9pm to close, the menu offers drink and appetizer specials perfect for after work, or after a Broadway show. Specials include $8 Cocktails like Virgil's Frozen Margarita, Bacardi Pina Colada, Frozen Skyy Lemonade or Wild Turkey Lemonade. Appetizers include Trainwreck Fries, and BBQ Nachos piled high with BBQ chicken, pulled pork, and beef brisket.

COCKTAIL TIME

Sereneco in Greenpoint is debuting a new cocktail menu. Highlights include an Amaro Spritz (St. Agrestis amaro, triple sec, thyme, sparkling wine), Dorothy Parker Sour (rose gin, cocchi rosa, rosemary, lemon, egg white), and the Greenpoint (Japanese whiskey, carpano antica, yellow chartreuse), among others. Sereneco is also offering a weekday happy hour until 7pm with a selection of beers for $6, glasses of wines for $7, and cocktails for $9.

GRAPE TASTINGS

One19 Wine Bar + Food, helmed by Chef/Co-owner Matt Rojas (Rouge et Blanc, Eleven Madison Park) and Sommelier Gianni Cavicchi (Nice Matin), is launching two new tasting menus (4 courses for $65 and 6 courses for $95) with wine pairings that introduce guests to little known grape varieties. Menu items include Pea Pesto Burrata + Rooftop Reds Cabernet Franc (rose); Pepperoni Bread Pizza + Rooftop Reds Traminette (white); Rosemary Tuna Tin + Tre Monti Albana (orange); and Charcuterie & Cheese Plate + Tre Monti Sangiovese (red).
