Tavern on the Green is back in business. The lovely outdoor garden is open after closing due to the pandemic. It’s the perfect spot for a cocktail and a bite. For Mother’s Day, it’s offering a 3-course brunch for $115/pp with options like Roasted Black Fig & Goat Cheese Flatbread, Maine Lobster Eggs Benedict and Tavern French Toast with blueberry compote. For dessert, there’s strawberry shortcake.

Speaking of openings… Gallaghers Steakhouse in Midtown is now open for indoor dining. During the pandemic, Gallagher’s had given some of its aging steaks showcased in a freezer up front to frontline workers. Now it’s your chance to get one.

You can now cozy up to the bar at American Brass in Long Island City. The restaurant is opening its bar for the first time ever, as of Wednesday May 5th, and to celebrate it will be offering Happy Hour all day at the bar for a full week. Cheers!

As you know, India is suffering from the worst of the pandemic. Now, Sona is helping out. As of this past Tuesday (May 4), proceeds from its “Floyd’s Goan Fish Curry” dish will be donated to #TogetherForIndia, a campaign initiated by Priyanka Chopra Jonas with @Give_India to support COVID relief efforts. The goal is to raise $1 million dollars.

Chef Tom Colichio is teaming up with Bowery Farming, a vertical farming company, by adding its Green Sorrel to his latest Craft Dinner Box. The limited addition greens will also be available at select NY retailers and Whole Foods for a limited run in a few weeks.

If you been trying to get your hands on the highly sought after Pecking House chicken, now’s your chance. With a waitlist of more than 5,000 people, Chef Eric Huang will be taking up residency for the summer at The Market Line on the Lower East Side. It kicks off this Saturday, May 8th from 5pm until sold out. Huang, a former sous chef at Eleven Madison Park, offers his chili fried chicken finished with Tianjin chilis and Szechuan peppercorns.

Seeing the forest from the trees. Maya Lin’s Ghost Forest is currently being installed on the Oval Lawn at Madison Square Park. The project is focusing attention on what it calls the devastation of climate change. Look closely or you might miss it.
And a 7.64 ton bronze statue now graces the entrance to Rockefeller Center. The 25-foot statue by Sanford Biggers, called Oracle, is truly larger than life.
