This is a great place for skate boarders and roller bladers. It's located in Hudson River Park between Pier 26 and Pier 32. The park includes a bowl (or pool), a street course and a mini half-pipe and is open to all ages free of charge. The facility can only fit a number of skaters at one time, and you may have to wait your turn. It's open Monday thru Friday 2pm-dusk and Saturday-Sunday 10am-dusk, weather permitting.
