Description:

Founded in 1971, The Bronx Museum of the Arts is a contemporary art institution dedicated to serving its dynamic neighborhood and city as well as the international art world. The Museum has a long-standing commitment to increasing audience participation in the visual arts through its Permanent Collection, exhibitions, and educational programs.  As the only art museum in the borough, it serves one of the most ethnically and socio-economically diverse constituencies in New York City, largely composed of African-American and Latino populations, as well as an increasing number of African, Asian, Caribbean, Eastern-European, Central- and South-American communities.
