Cititour Review:

This concert café sets the standard for live music in the neighborhood—a tough venue to rival when it comes to variety and quality of music (not to mention its free!)  If you live in the neighborhood, you well may end up there at least one night a week just to hang out, relax over a brew and listen to some great music.  Sets start at 9pm and 11pm.

When you enter, you’ll be greeted by a warm environment with candle lit tables and small groupings of chairs around a hodge podge of round tables facing the stage.  There will probably be a strange and wonderful series of images being projected on the wall behind the stage, amid the backdrop of eclectic vintage record covers decorating the walls.  From Miles Davis to John Prine, they display the owner’s wide range of musical influence. With its comfy, closely seated table, you almost feel as though you’re coming home to your own living room, and the servers and bartenders all seem like they could be family. While the fool menu has been narrowed to a few tapas and sandwiches, the wide selection of music will make it well worth your while.

All of the choices on the menu are good.  The ham and gruyère cheese with chips ($9) was delicious, as was the daily tarte ($5).  You can definitely pick up smatterings of the French ownership on the menu items (Quiche of the day, a selection of ‘Vins de Pays’ and a listing of ‘Aperetifs & Digestifs’.  For a fun night of friends and music, Zebulon is the place to be.
