Details:

Yellow Magnolia Café is a new restaurant devoted to modern, vegetable-focused cuisine within the Garden’s iconic landscape. Named for the collection of distinctive yellow-flowered magnolias introduced by Brooklyn Botanic Garden, Yellow Magnolia Café is a celebration of its urban garden setting, with ingredients sourced from local farms and purveyors—an ethos in keeping with the Garden’s longstanding interest in sustainable practices. Select produce will be harvested from Brooklyn Botanic Garden itself, appearing on menus as items come into season, in collaboration with the Garden’s horticulturists. Brooklyn chef Rob Newton helms the restaurant, working alongside chef de cuisine Morgan Jarrett. The restaurant was designed by David Rockwell and his firm Rockwell Group. The Palm House, first constructed in 1917, has been fully refreshed and updated, also by Rockwell Group. One of two wedding and event spaces within Brooklyn Botanic Garden (along with the Atrium), the Palm House is located alongside the new Café. Rockwell Group conceived a fresh and modern design concept that draws from the history of the century-old botanic garden and the idea of framing nature in the design.

Exclusively for visitors to Brooklyn Botanic Garden (admission to the Garden is required), Yellow Magnolia Café will be open for all-day service every day the Garden is open, with brunch on Saturdays and Sundays. The Palm House is open for weddings and private events. Both spaces have beautiful views of BBG’s Lily Pool Terrace.
