VHH Foods has set up shop inside a landmark building at 55 Water Street in DUMBO. The restaurant, an offshoot of Vinegar Hill House, offers outdoor seating in a courtyard with brick arches overlooking the Manhattan Bridge. It's a casual spot where you can enjoy breakfast, lunch or dinner. Meats, like smoked chicken and "desert" pork, are sold by weight starting at a quarter pound. Other options include Montauk tile fish and roasted tofu. Meat Hook Hot Dogs are also available with your choice of toppings including shaved fennel with pickled mustard seed, and red cabbage with curried ketchup and fried shallots. Sides and salads range from asparagus with a miso hollandaise to purple potatoes with sugar snap peas. Park and "family meals" are also offered starting at $70. VHH Foods is open from 7am to 11am for breakfast; lunch and dinner until 10pm. Breakfast brings unique dishes like spaghetti frittata, and a kale & leek quiche. Service is friendly.
