Cititour Review:

For our money, Trinity Place offers one of the best bars in the Financial District. And it's not because you have to walk through a 1904 vault with 35 tonne doors to get in. Indeed, it is one one of the most interesting destinations in the city. But that's not the only attraction. Trinity Place offers more than 50 beers from around the world (most in the $5-$7 range) and food worthy of its loungy feel and cozy leather banquettes. We stopped in for lunch and a burger. The house special kobe burger ($14) arrived piping hot, smothered in a red onion chutney and cheddar (you can also pick blue cheese, or Swiss) and juices dripping down its sides. It's definitely one of the juiciest burgers we've tasted, and served with decent supply of crispy home-fry potatoes. But it's not your typical bar food. The lunch menu includes a Lobster BLT ($18) made with country style bacon and roasted tomatoes. Dinner, served in a formal dining room in the rear, features entrees like pappardelle pasta with braised wild boar ($18), diver scallops in a red wine shallot sauce ($27) and a dry aged sirloin steak with béarnaise sauce ($32). Trinity Place is gaining quite a reputation as a great spot for lunch or after work drink. What we love about the place is you don't have to break the bank. You'll just feel like you did!
