Cititour Review:

Showcasing a fusion of Asian cuisine is Tiger Blossom in the East Village. Chef-owner Chris Cheung, formerly of Nobu and Ruby Foo's, has balanced an elegant and fun dining environment with a menu showing a unique mix of exotic Asian ingredients and spices. The bar is truly spirited, with red brocade lanterns, infused sakes, and enervating cocktails like the Tiger Colada made with rice wine and the Shanghai Iced Tea made with chrysanthemum tea. The food is innovative yet reasonably priced. Appetizers like the Twice Cooked Calamari ($8), braised all day in a flavorful green curry, really hits the mark without overwhelming you. The Five Spice Sirloin ($11) is a new take on a traditional Japanese classic. The entrees are equally amazing, such as Treasures of the Sea ($18) which is wok-cooked seafood on a bed of fried rice spiced with a siracha mango chili sauce. The Breast of Duck ($20) is a delicate balance of texture and taste, served with crisp sweet potato croquettes and wraps of moo shu duck. The desserts are both fascinating to the tongue and beautiful to the eye, especially the Lychee Crème Brulee, the Passion Fruit Cheesecake, and the Chocolate Almond Mille-Feuille. Service is friendly and attentive. Check it out.
