Cititour Review:

Stepping into Satya you get the feeling you have just stumbled upon fast food of the future.  An enormous flashing sign announces your arrival. Towering floor-to-ceiling windows and huge murals seal the deal.

Inside, bulky wooden tables add warmth to this industrial chic setting.  Sharing tables with cherry red metal seats summon large groups from nearby Broadway shows and offices.  The food and service are also a step above the ordinary.

Satya offers a mix of Asian cuisines from a menu that resembles a game board on Jeopardy.  There are Kimchi sliders with kimchi relish and jalapeno aoli ($10.50) and chicken wings smothered in a siraracha ginger sauce ($8.50).  Larger plates feature Pao Wow Chicken with dried peppers, peanuts and scallions ($9.95) to Emereld Prawns wrapped in spinach and cashew nuts ($11.95).

But first things first.  Place an order and then take a number back to your table.  Soon a server arrives with plates in hand.  I tried Hi-Lo Chicken, a take on sweet and sour chicken that is also available in beef.  Crisp bites of lightly battered chicken in a pungent sauce with green and red bell peppers along with chunks of fresh pineapple.  For $9.95, it also included two sides, one of which was a fantastic medley of veggies in a light sauce that included baby corn, wild mushooms and crunchy water chestnuts.

Satya is a step above traditional fast food.  After all, where can you get a fountain soda or a bottle of Dom Perigon.
