You may never look at a sandwich the same again after visiting Open Rye at the Great Northern Food Hall inside Grand Central. These open-faced sandwiches, known as smørrebrød, are just as exciting to look at as they are to eat. There is pork rullepølse served on rustic rye with strands of beet root, sol and crispy pork skin; chicken salad with raw apple and watercress; roast beef with crispy onions and horseradish; pickled herring with radish; and chicken liver mousse topped with pickled blueberries, chervil and crispy chicken skin.
