Cititour Review:

While looking for a late breakfast in Brooklyn, a friend and I decided to give Mega Bites a try. Mega Bites is a nice diner with a warm atmosphere and a friendly owner. There is a good amount of seating and a great big window that looks out on Dekalb Ave, making for a nice view while enjoying your meal. The diner offers a wide variety of breakfast, lunch and dinner at reasonable prices. Hungry for breakfast, I ordered the spinach omelette ($5.95) that came with home fries and toast, while my friend had the western omelette which also came with home fries and toast.

While waiting for our food (which arrived very quickly), we had the opportunity to talk to the owner of the diner about his career and experience as a restaurant owner in Brooklyn. He also shared with us what it was like for him growing up in Greece. However, when our food arrived most of the conversation came to a halt because we were too busy devouring our meals. My three egg omelette was very good; it was full of spinach and a good amount of melted cheddar cheese (I decided to add the cheddar cheese). What's an omelette without cheese? I also had swiss and provolone as options. The home fries were pretty delicious as well. They were seasoned almost perfectly and the green peppers were a great addition.

While eating I noticed that the owner knew more than one customer by name and was sure to greet everyone who came through the doors of the diner, making for a warm and inviting dining experience. I will definitely making another trip back to Mega Bites when I am in the area. I look forward to trying a lunch or dinner item, although it will be hard to resist ordering another omelette. They have a potato omelette that sounds very tempting. If you happen to try it before I do, leave me a comment and let me know how it is.
