Cititour Review:

Having never been to Mars, I was intrigued by the prospect. Passing by the space ship at the entrance to one of New York's famed theme restaurants I must say I was impressed. We walked passed glowing electrodes, lava pits, and over rickety planks to get to the bar, which looks like something out of Star Wars, with its twinkling stars and martian scenes. Even the chairs had the look and feel of a space adventure. At the restaurant we were greeted by our host, dressed in a cheesy knock-off of a Captain Kirk outfit. The "captain" of our table gave us what appeared to be a vulcan greeting and then accused us of giving him the finger. It was all in fun and worked well with the shtick. The restaurant itself resembles a subterranean cave complete with its own resident aliens. It seemed as though every table was celebrating a birthday. The first two or three were fine, but by the eighth chorus I had had enough. Thank goodness the food arrived. With names like "Soylan Green" how could you go wrong. You can. My advice; stick wth the easy stuff, a burger or meatloaf with some Mars mashed. Skip past the pasta and the flavorless chicken and anything else you wouldn't order in a diner. The zesty buffalo wings are a good bet. Wash it all down with some "Marstinis." Believe me, everything will taste better and the place a bit more spacey. All in all, I must say it was a fun evening and a great place for kids, although the real little ones could find some of the attractions a bit frightful. I know I did.
