Isola Trattoria and Crudo Bar is the sexy replacement to Imperial No. 9 at the Mondrian SoHo where there is ample space for dining outside or inside under the stars. Chef Victor LaPlaca is also offering a new, less fussy menu full of tempting offerings, like meatballs in a roasted tomato sauce ($12), hamachi salsa verde with avocado and crispy shallot ($18), and tuna with white balsamic, jalapeno, watermelon and pine nuts ($18). There are pizzas fresh from the oven ranging from a traditional margherita ($17) to fennel sausage with herbed ricotta and caramelized onion ($18). The entree list boasts branzino in a Limoncello sauce ($28) and diver scallops with Meyer lemon and mint ($29). Or break the bank with a dry aged 18 oz bone-in LaFrieda sirloin ($48).
