Sometimes it's the simple things in life that bring us pleasure. At Havana Chelsea it's the home cooking that draws the crowds. In particular, the Cuban sandwiches, made with roast pork, ham, swiss cheese and pickle slices. The sandwiches are then cooked in a press until the cheese is melted and the bread is crisp. Delicious! Other house specialties include; chicken soup with whole pieces of chicken. Although the thick layer of chicken fat on top is enough to give you cardiac arrest. They also make hearty stews served with black beans and rice. The decor is diner. A counter up front, some tables in the rear with funky 3-D street scenes of Cuba on the wall. Can't beat the price at under ten bucks.
