Cititour Review:

It's hip! It's hot! And it's not in the East Village or the (quickly getting sanitized) Meatpacking District. To get to this spot you'll have to pass the homeless folks outside Project Hope; bear with fumes from buses entering the Port Authority, and the bumper-to-bumper traffic heading into the Lincoln Tunnel. HK is in Hell's Kitchen where things are starting to heat up. Out of the dinge... comes light. Huge garage doors draw plenty of light into this lounge/restaurant creating a sort of industrial elegance. Bright white banquettes, white tables and even white padding on the walls add to the stark contrast with the scene outside. A fully stocked, stainless steel bar pumps out designer martinis to match its sexy crowd. Yet the place is not pretentious and you'll feel at home walking in by yourself or with a crowd. The food is a mix of mediterranean dishes like spicy grilled calamari with chickpea salad, some attempts at haute cuisine and diner fare. You'll fare best with the burgers or a tender ribeye steak, and maybe an "Almond Joy," a concoction made from Absolut, Malibu and Amaretto. HK has plenty of potential. It's already drawing plenty of crowds.
