Glow is the perfect name for this new Thai spot. Candlelit tables give this space, with its exposed brick and sexy banquettes, a warm glow making it ideal for a romantic meal. And while it's still BYOB, the owners don't seem to mind uncorking your favorite bottle of wine.
Start with some curry puffs; chicken, potato and onion combined with a flavorful curry sauce that is tucked into pockets of flaky pastry. They are pure heaven. Chicken, pork and shrimp dumplings, meanwhile, take on an added crunch from bits of water chestnut, while satays slathered with a sweet and spicy peanut sauce are definitely worth seeking out. They are available in pork or chicken. We also enjoyed the crispy shrimp rolls served with a lively chili dipping sauce.
Main courses include about a dozen or so noodle and rice dishes that you can mix and match with your favorite meat or seafood. There is everything from traditional pad thai and pineapple fried rice to crispy duck in a flavorful tamarind sauce. Glow is also serving up half a grilled chicken with papaya salad, and a grilled skirt steak served Thai-style with a tamarind chili sauce. You will also find "street noodles" in a hot and sour lemongrass broth, and four different types of curries. For dessert, try some crispy banana rolls served with ice cream.
