Cititour Review:

It was Saturday night and Fifth Avenue in Park Slope, Brooklyn was packed.  Unable to find a spot near any of our favorite spots, we found ourselves driving down Flatbush Avenue where we spotted Fish & Sip.  Intrigued by the name, we decided to give it a try.

It's an odd kind of place specializing in fresh fish and coffee.  But who am I to complain when you can eat a fish dinner for around ten bucks.  The grilled salmon I ordered was prepared perfectly, nice and moist with lots of garlic.   It was served with a heaping helping of freshly sauteed spinach that was bright and green,  alongside a healthy supply of fries (Mashed and baked potatoes are also available).  The tuna steak that my son ordered was nice and thick. Yes, he's probably the only 8-year-old on the planet who would order fresh tuna.  He quickly devoured it, along with some fries.  My wife, meanwhile, had the Flounder Francese; two large filets swimming in a white wine and butter sauce that proved too big for her to finish.  It was served with an Israeli salad packed with leafy greens.

Desserts are also humongous, including something I believe they called Tiramisu Soup.  It's a bucket full of tiramisu that could easily feed two or three people.  The hot apple strudel was also a hit.

Now for the sips...  Be sure to try the Lemonana.  It's lemonade served up frosty-style with just a hint of ginger.  On a hot summer day I could easily drink two or three of these.  They also make smoothies in flavors ranging from melon and mango to peach and blueberry.

So, if you're fishing for some cheap eats that won't disappoint you might want to give Fish & Sip a try.
