Dinosaur Bar-B-Cue has done an excellent job at creating a honky tonk atmosphere in an old building in Park Slope, Brooklyn and making it industrial chic.  There is picnic-style seating outside, while inside you will find a full bar that was buzzing the night we visited.  There are plenty of quality beers and ales on tap, while drinks like "Donkey Punch" pack a nice punch.

Pit-smoked chicken wings are mighty tasty with a chunky blue cheese dipping sauce, while the ribs are fall-off-the-bone quality.  The meat picks up a pinkish hue from the smoker and the housemade BBQ sauce has a nice tang to it.   The sides also hit the spot, like spicy mac 'n cheese, baked beans with a strong hint of thyme  and yummy potato salad and cole slaw.

The "Sweet Deal" is really sweet.  For $30 you get a rack of ribs and your choice of 4 sides.  It could easily feed two or three people.  Other dishes include BBQ salmon fritters, Creole spiced devil eggs, pulled pork and Texas brisket. We capped off our meal with a delicious piece of cheesecake drizzled with caramel sauce.  The restaurant also offers lemon or chocolate icebox cake, and peanut butter pie.

Update: All Dinosaur BBQ locations now offer signature BBQ Bowls with low-and-slow ‘que and homemade sides in a lighter format. The Black & White bowl is served with black beans and rice, while the Sweet & Green bowl features whipped sweet potatoes and simmered collard greens. Both bowls come with your choice of BBQ Pulled Pork, BBQ Beef Brisket, or BBQ Pulled Chicken, as well as mixed salad, a Creole deviled egg and grilled cornbread. You can also get them with the soup of the day.
