Never one to pass up on a cheesesteak, I found myself inside the Cheesesteak Factory, a neat little joint in Brooklyn with seating for 20 or so and a takeout line that extends into the wee hours of the morning to accomodate the Bay Ridge bar crowd. But does it deliver the goods? Afterall, even the flashiest neon sign can't save you if you can't cook up a proper cheesesteak. I'm happy to report Cheeseteak Factory delivers on all fronts. The hero rolls are fresh and soft. The sirloin is sliced thin and grilled hard and fast. It's that sizzle that makes these steaks so flavorful and juicy, not to mention the carmelized onions. Fantastic! We topped it off with provolone, but you can choose from American, Mozzarella and of course, Cheese Wiz. The sandwich arrived overflowing and gooey from the melted cheese. Not bad for under seven bucks. It's a great place for takeout or a family on a budget. Two kids could easily share one of these sandwiches. In all, Cheeseteak Factory offers nine different types of sandwiches, as well as a certified angus burger, pasta dishes and salads. But we'd stick with a simple cheesesteak and a side of some gloriously greasy waffle fries.
