Cititour Review:

There are two simple reasons to make a mad dash to Ceci-Cela Patisserie in Nolita. The first are the Tuiles, a magnificent and truly addictive French cookie. They arrive in packets of four for $2. You'll wish there were many more. The second is another cookie called Langue de Chat, which in French means cat's tongue. These long, thin cookies melt in your mouth leaving a buttery taste. We counted 8 for $2 which is a bargain. They'd also make wonderful favors for a wedding In fact, everything looks good, which may explain the crowds out the door. Ceci-Cela offers a nice assortment of cakes, tarts, financiers and madeleines. We particularly enjoyed the pear and apple-shaped tarts that taste as good as they look ($5). You'll also find croissants (available frozen for baking up fresh at home), brioche and a nice assortment of sandwiches served on French baguettes. Eight-inch cakes, which include Black Forest, Chocolate Rasberry and Symphony cake made with lady fingers and rasberry mouse, range in price from $28 to $35. But the cookies are the best bet in our book. Trust me, you'll have trouble getting them home!
