Cititour Review:

I pass through Chelsea nearly every day, and for some reason I always find myself here amidst the forest of Starbucks around.  It’s a cozy respite from the typically crowded places you usually see elsewhere. With free wifi, one can spend the entire day here, lunching on satisfying paninis and ciabatta sandwiches. Their cakes and brownies are always a great choice. They also give SVA and FIT students 10% off, too. All in all, it feels good supporting a local cafe instead of another Starbucks or McDonald’s.

It’s a fine place to people-watch, because of the large windows that let in a lot of light (unlike their restaurant next door which could use a few more lamps). Service is always quick, friendly, and with a smile. It is a calm oasis in the usually busy Chelsea district. Just outside the cafe are benches were you can relax and have a quick smoke. In the afternoons, there is usually a guy who sits with his pet parrot named Bola.

They have a restaurant next door, too. What’s popular are the hot foccacia sandwiches, prix fixe lunch, and extensive wine list. It’s a reliable option to go to when spending time with friends, or having dinner before that movie or show at the nearby Clearview Cinema or Joyce Theater. It’s always a treat to go back.
