Cititour Review:

Brooklyn Flipster's is the kind of place any parent can love. Because while the kids will be happy chowing down on a burger and shake, parents can sit back and enjoy icy pint of beer.  The restaurant has a nice pub feel with a full bar up front and a dining area in the rear.  It draws a mix of young families and singles in a friendly atmosphere.

Start with some finger foods.  There are buffalo wings ($8/$10) cooked in four flavors, including Jack Daniels.  Or, go for a bowl of nachos topped with chili or BBQ chicken ($10).  But it's really the burgers that draw in the crowds.  The "Flipster" makes for an excellent choice.  It's a thick juicy patty layered with bacon, mozzarella and caramelized onions ($10).  My son, meanwhile, went to town on his hot dogs smothered in chili.  You will also find a "Blue" burger filled with creamy blue cheese, a "Classic" made with black angus, and a lamb burger.  There are veggie burgers for non-meat lovers along with a breaded portobello burger.  Be sure to get a batch of crispy fries or onion rings.  Kids meals are easy on the wallet and include a choice of mac-n-cheese, hot dogs, chicken fingers and sliders.  Each meal is accompanied by a soft drink and your choice of fries or broccoli.  Something tells me there aren't many broccoli takers.

The restaurant also sells a full line of shakes in classic flavors like chocolate, vanilla and strawberry, and some not-so-ordinary versions, like the Caramel Latte with coffee ice cream and caramel syrup, and The Lunch Box with peanut butter and jelly.  There are also "Big Boy" shakes like the Mudslide with vanilla vodka, Bailey's and Kahlua.  For dessert, try some chocolate mud pie or a banana split.

It's nice to know that there are places like Flipster's where parents can turn for a nice lunch or dinner without having to worry about bringing the kids.  To find it, just look for the life-size cow outside.  I promise you'll "udderly" enjoy it.  Alright, that was pretty bad. But go, you'll like it!
