Feel like you're in Spain's Basque country with a trip to Brooklyn Cider House in Bushwick. Sample raw cider from massive wooden barrels while learning about the aging process. Cider maker Peter Yi has created a unique spot to showcase five ciders produced in Upstate New York. The space, complete with dining hall, will also serve as a showcase for New York State ciders, wine and spirits. The menu, meanwhile, gets its inspiration from Basque cooking, including a Cowboy Ribeye Steak, Chorizo Sausage and Bacalao Omelettes. Yi's ciders are produced at Twin Star Orchards in New Paltz where they are working on producing heirloom apples. See more

Update: Brooklyn Cider House is expanding their dinner menu by adding some delicious summer items to their 4-course prix-fixe, including a grilled wild-caught Whole Red Snapper with garlic oil; Arroz Con Almejas, a Basque-style clam risotto, made with bomba rice from Valencia and fresh littleneck clams; Summer Tomato Salad with tomatoes fresh from the garden at their Twin Star Orchards Upstate NY; Kale & Roasted Beet Salad with orange citrus dressing; Bread Pudding with candied pecans, and Apple Fritters à la mode with housemade apple cider syrup. As always, the prix-fixe meal also includes cider catching straight from large wooden barrels!
